Sweethearts #45 contains two stories: "Sweethearts," in which Anne asks Bill Nelson about his beautiful new girlfriend Laura, only to learn that Bill feels ashamed of Laura's perceived conceitedness and doesn't believe she returns his affection, leading Bill to confess his desire to be with Anne instead; and "Cute Cloud," a prose story about Paul Wesenfeld, who discovers a property deed complication with his cottage and reconnects with childhood friend Helen Furgeson, a widow living on the adjacent land, leading to a rekindled romance as they spend time together ice skating and reminiscing about their past.
