Joey and Sylvia run a small dry cleaning shop and hope to marry someday. When a Margant cleaners’ chain shop opens across the street, they decide to sell out. Joey gets a job as a truck dispatcher for Margant and Sylvia is hired in their personnel department. Laura, daughter of the owner, flirts with Joey and gives him a promotion. Laura later proposes marriage and Joey accepts because she’s rich, but changes his mind when Sylvia begs him to reconsider. Laura’s father says he knew Laura was wrong for trying to buy Joey’s love. Joey returns to Sylvia, his true love.
