Four issues into this haunting six-part DC Black Label series, Jeff Lemire and colorist José Villarrubia deliver a cover that practically hums with dread. Two antlered, hybrid figures face each other in a shadowy cavern, their hands meeting between them — and looming behind them, a massive skeletal form with an enormous rack of antlers casts its silent presence over the scene. It's an unsettling mirror image that raises more questions than it answers, and with two issues still to go, the tension Jeff Lemire has built feels just about ready to break.
