"Sherry Tuppe" follows a woman at a gas station who uses oil as a weapon against an attacker. "Building of Horror" depicts a sinister scenario involving a criminal gang leader named Peak O'Dean who designs a glass building that has banned a man named Joe Moroni, leading to tragic consequences involving counterfeit stamps and murder. Additional stories appear throughout the issue, with various tales of suspense and crime presented in the typical comic book format of the era.
When a tobacco truck hijacking goes wrong and leaves a man dead, three fugitive gangsters find unexpected refuge at State University—posing as students in Professor Percival Smythe's very classroom. As the absentminded professor slowly pieces together who his new "pupils" really are, tension builds toward a confrontation he never bargained for. It's a crime story where knowledge of the subject matter becomes the most dangerous thing in the room.
Dr. Malcolm Muir and his partner the Dove arrive in Brownsville to investigate a series of mysterious mine explosions at the request of Police Chief Barton—but their casual inspection quickly uncovers something sinister lurking in the tunnels. When they stumble upon evidence of sabotage, the two find themselves trapped in a deadly trap and must fight their way out to expose the conspiracy behind the mining disasters.
When the local ration board enlists detectives Sherry Flippe and Mr. Gribbets to run a gas station and catch counterfeit-stamp peddlers, Sherry finds herself dealing with suspicious customers and questionable ration stamps—including a particularly perfumed visitor who might be the key to cracking the case. This 1946 humor-crime romp from Suspense Comics #11 pairs slapstick service-station antics with genuine detective work, as Sherry discovers that the crooks' calling card is the scent of a distinctive perfume.
Mardi Gras revelry turns sinister when the mysterious Harlequin crashes a New Orleans ball, intent on stopping the villainous Rene Tuskan from stealing away the bride-to-be Yvonne—only to find himself caught in a supernatural scheme orchestrated by Satan himself. As dreams and reality blur, Tuskan may have won more than he bargained for, and the Harlequin discovers that some infernal bargains come with a price far darker than death.
"Peak" Dugan hatches a scheme to frame his former partner Joe Moroni for a cop killing, only to find himself hunted by a vengeful specter in the aftermath—with Mr. Nobody, who lives in everybody, ensuring that revenge takes a supernatural and inescapable turn. As Dugan flees through the city, pursued by what he believes to be Joe's ghost, the line between guilt and reality begins to blur in this twisted tale of comeuppance. This is a story where the guilty conscience becomes the cruelest punishment of all.
