From early 1993, Supreme #2 drops readers right into the thick of it with a cover by Brian Murray that pulls no punches — a battered, snarling Supreme, blood-streaked and cape-torn, is seized by the massive armored fist of a formidable opponent whose gleaming, gold-trimmed armor dominates the right side of the image. The raw intensity of that grip and Supreme's defiant, teeth-bared expression set a visceral tone that matches the issue's story title, "Heavy Mettle," perfectly. With Rob Liefeld and Brian Murray collaborating on the full interior package, this issue is a strong early entry in Image's bold, hard-hitting take on superhero comics.
