In "Metallo - robotmannen," a desperate criminal named John Corben is rebuilt as a cyborg after a near-fatal accident, his body powered by uranium. When bullets meant for Lois Lane strike him, she mistakes him for Superman—leading Corben to seize the chance to impersonate the hero and steal more uranium. As his power source dwindles, he turns to kryptonite, unaware that the sample he takes is fake, setting off a chain of events that could unravel his fragile disguise.
