Superman takes responsibility for Lieutenant Nar's actions and Zod dismisses the charges against her. While Kal-El waits for his verdict, Tyr-Van disables the force field restraining Commander El, but the prisoner does not attempt to flee. Though Kal-El is found guilty, General Zod suggests that Commander El be granted the pardon available since it is Nova, the day Krypton celebrates the birth and rebirth of their star, Rao. So granted, Zod and Kal-El, joined by Alura and Supergirl, attend the celebration of the removal of the dome over the city, when Zod is shockingly shot.
