“World of New Krypton, Part One”

"World of New Krypton, Part One" kicks off a bold new chapter in Superman’s journey with writer James Robinson and Greg Rucka, illustrated by Pete Woods and colored by Brad Anderson. When Superman returns to New Krypton, his aunt offers him the chance to join one of the planet’s ancient guilds, setting him on a path that leads him through the city’s striking architecture and into a tense encounter with Zod’s enforcers. Cover by Gary Frank captures the grandeur and unease of this pivotal moment.

When Superman returns to New Krypton, his aunt tells him that he may choose his place in Kryptonian society as a member of any of the guilds. Accompanied by labor guild member Tyr-Van, Superman sets off to explore New Krypton and consider his choice. When Tyr notices that they are being followed by a pair of Zod's men, Superman decides it is time to talk with the General. In the end, Superman decides that the Kryptonian guild system is wrong and refuses to choose one, but Alura informs him that one will then be chosen for him, and Superman finds himself working for Zod in the military guild.
