The heroes fight the Kryptonian army on several fronts, until Superboy gains the upper hand with a Phantom Zone projector. Supergirl, Steel, and the Guardian defeat General Lane's goons. Supergirl wants to kill Lane in revenge, decides against it, but Lane does it himself. Superman projects Zod and himself (as warden) into the Zone, but Nightwing and The Nightwing entity send Superman back. Nightwing de-ages and joins with Mon-El.
