Superman continues to fight as a slave on Warworld, hoping to inspire the others who live under Mongul's rule. Superman takes an interest in two young Phaelosians, but that attention makes them a target for Mongul. Later, Superman gets word that Midnighter is planning an attack against Mongul that will cost innocent lives, and works with Kryl-Ux to find an alternative.
