Superman Annual #3
Part of DC's sweeping 1991 "Armageddon 2001" crossover event, this Superman Annual delivers a striking cover by penciler Dusty Abell and inker Terry Austin, showcasing a bold, full-figure Superman charging forward against a city backdrop while rendered portraits of Batman, Robin, and several Justice League members loom in dramatic black-and-white behind him. The tagline — "Batman, Robin and the Justice League vs. The Man of Tomorrow… Today!" — sets up a compelling hero-versus-hero tension that feels right at home in DC's ambitious annual lineup for that year. Dan Jurgens leads the creative team on the interior story "Execution 2001," with a roster of skilled inkers including Terry Austin, John Beatty, Dick Giordano, and Dennis Janke ensuring the visuals are polished throughout.
