Superman Adventures #37

A wall poster proclaims "Superman — Hometown Hero!" while a grimly determined Clark Kent clutches a blue gun in the foreground as fiery meteors streak overhead — a wonderfully tense setup for Mark Millar's story "Clark Kent: Public Enemy." The cover tagline "Clark Kent — Metropolis' Most Wanted!" adds an irresistible wrinkle to the Metropolis mythos, with Superman himself visible soaring heroically on that very poster behind his secret identity. Mike Manley's pencils and Terry Austin's inks translate the animated series' clean, expressive style beautifully, making this November 1999 issue a treat for fans of the WB animated universe.
