About this Collection

This volume collects issues from the 2025 Action Comics series, pitting Superman against a vengeful demonic threat that forces him to confront his own mortality. The story also features Batman and Bruce Wayne, as Clark Kent and Kal-El face a supernatural adversary that challenges the Man of Steel's resilience and heroism.

In "Empire of Shadows," Superman faces his most personal threat yet when a Blue Earth agent steals his powers and masquerades as him, turning Metropolis against its protector. With Clark weakened and the twins struggling to adapt, Kara turns to a Kryptonian fable for guidance, while Clark seeks help from John Henry to forge new tools in a fight for his identity. Written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and illustrated by Rafa Sandoval, with colors by Matt Herms and letters by Dave Sharpe, this gripping issue blends intimate family moments with high-stakes action, all anchored by Steve Beach’s striking cover.
