In "Clark Kent's New Mother and Father," a grieving couple, Mr. and Mrs. John Vandevier, believe they’ve found their long-lost son in the likeness of Clark Kent—so much so that they ask him to temporarily take on the role of their son to ease their sorrow. While posing as their child, Clark struggles to live up to their expectations, his quiet demeanor leaving them disappointed. When Superman finally uncovers the truth, he sets out to reunite the family with the real missing boy, whose plane had crashed on a remote island years before.
