Superman #91

From 1954 comes this delightfully strange corner of the Superman mythos, as the cover by Al Plastino shows the Man of Steel reaching out to touch an apparition in Roman robes — the ghost of Julius Caesar himself — while Perry White and another onlooker react with wide-eyed alarm. The cover copy promises "the amazing story of a modern ghost who haunts Metropolis," and Plastino's clean, expressive linework makes the absurd encounter feel genuinely urgent. Inside, the featured story is "The Superman Stamp!" — a fine reminder of how inventively sprawling Superman comics were in their Silver Age prime.
