Superman #676
In "Memorial Day," Superman reflects on his first Memorial Day in Metropolis, balancing heroics with quiet moments of remembrance. Written by Vito Delsante and illustrated by Julian Lopez, with inks by BIT, colors by Marta Martinez, and lettering by Comicraft, the story finds Superman stopping a rogue robot, repairing a damaged bridge, and returning to the Daily Planet—only to face a comet threat that brings the first Green Lantern to the city. When Solomon Grundy arrives and overpowers the Green Lantern, Superman confronts him for the first time, teaming up to stop the menace. The cover, by Alex Ross, captures the moment with striking, timeless detail.

Superman remembers his first Memorial Day in Metropolis. He stops a robot, repairs a bridge, and returns to the Daily Planet. When a comet threatens Metropolis, it's stopped by the first Green Lantern. Solomon Grundy appears, and knocks out Green Lantern. Superman confronts Grundy for the first time, and teams with Green Lantern to defeat him. Grundy is then taken off their hands by Lexcorp’s Morlock team, who return him to Lex Luthor (who released Grundy to begin with).
