Jean Loring grübelt über eine fehlende Seite im Tagebuch eines berühmten Millionärs nach. Wenn das Buch vollständig wäre, würde die Schule eine grosse Erbschaft machen, also begibt sich Ray Palmer als Atom auf eine Zeitreise und landet im Jahr 1938. Er wird entdeckt und für einen Marsmenschen gehalten, denn an diesem Tag lief das Hörspiel von Orson Welles im Radio. Der spätere Millionär riss dann die Seite aus seinem Tagebuch heraus, das ihn an seinen vermeintlichen Glauben an die Marsbewohner erinnerte.
