Superman #289
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeSuperman on horseback — wielding a sword through the streets of Metropolis — is exactly the kind of wild premise that made 1975 DC Comics such a joy. This July issue teases "The Phantom Horseman of Metropolis!" right on the cover, where the Man of Steel rides a rearing white horse, blade raised, as startled bystanders scatter on a real-city street backdrop, courtesy of cover art by Curt Swan, Jack Adler, and Bob Oksner. Writer Cary Bates and artist Curt Swan (inked by Bob Oksner) were a reliable creative team, and this striking, surreal setup promises one of their more imaginative adventures.
