Superman #27
Superman #27 pulls off something quietly striking — a lone figure of the Man of Steel tumbling through an endless void of black, his cape billowing dramatically around him as a genuine smile crosses his face. The contrast between that vast darkness and Clark's almost joyful expression gives the Ivan Reis and Joe Prado cover a real sense of wonder rather than dread. Brian Michael Bendis and Reis continue "Mythological Part Three" here, and Entertainment Weekly's "Superhero of the Year" banner up top feels well-earned for a run that clearly still has plenty of momentum.
