Superman #189
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA mid-1960s DC gem, this August 1966 issue promises "Electrifying Suspense" right on its cover, which depicts Superman stepping cautiously across a ruined alien landscape — recognizable as Krypton — while a white dog, several collapsed or dazed figures in colorful costumes, and crumbling structures surround him. A speech bubble captures Superman's anguish at witnessing doom come to the world of his birth, setting the stage for the interior tale "Krypton Lives Again!" by writer Otto Binder and artist Wayne Boring. The cover, rendered by penciler Curt Swan and inker George Klein, strikes a tone of eerie wonder that was very much the hallmark of Superman storytelling in 1966.
