In "Troubled Mind Part Two: Proof Positive," the Avengers put the Superior Spider-Man through a series of tests to understand his increasingly violent actions—unaware that Otto Octavius has fully taken over Peter Parker’s mind. With the results in hand, Otto begins to suspect that a fragment of Parker still lingers within him, and he resolves to eliminate it completely. Written by Dan Slott and illustrated by Humberto Ramos, with inks by Victor Olazaba, colors by Edgar Delgado, and letters by Chris Eliopoulos, this 2013 issue features a cover by Humberto Ramos.

The Avengers perform a battery of tests on Spider-Man to probe his new violent behavior, but they do not discover that Octavius has taken over his consciousness and simply place him on probation. But later, armed with the test results, Otto calculates that some portion of Peter Parker has remained within him and he is determined to eradicate it.
