Supergirl stands front and center on Barry Kitson's dynamic cover, fists raised and cape tattered, looking like she's just fought her way through half the Legion. Three fallen figures surround her — a blue-suited Legionnaire crumpling to the left, a green-skinned member sprawled at her feet, and a pale figure collapsing to the right — all framed within a glowing golden circle that gives the whole scene a gladiatorial charge. Mark Waid and Kitson's 2006 run had been steadily raising the stakes, and this December issue promises that the Girl of Steel is very much at the heart of whatever storm has just broken loose.
