Supergirl #9

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Supergirl #9 from July 2012 puts Kara in a tense standoff as the cover — by Mahmud Asrar — shows her crouching defiantly while cradling a pale, stricken figure, all beneath the looming, snarling visage of the Black Banshee. The tagline "At the Murderous Mercy of the Black Banshee!" makes clear that this issue, titled "Like Daughter," puts Supergirl under serious pressure from a genuinely menacing foe. Writers Michael Green and Mike Johnson deliver what promises to be a charged, emotionally driven chapter of Kara's early New 52 adventures.
