Part of DC's 2020 "Year of the Villain: The Infected" event, this issue of Supergirl finds Kara in a deeply unsettling place — and the cover by Bengal makes that tension impossible to miss. A darkly transformed Supergirl, wearing a corrupted version of her costume and bearing jagged, otherworldly details, lunges forward declaring "This is the REAL me!," while a ghostly, serene image of her true self looms large in the background and the shadow of a monstrous bat-like figure hovers ominously overhead. With Jody Houser writing and Rachael Stott on interior art, this is a striking chapter in a story that asks just how far Kara Zor-El can be pushed from herself.
