Supergirl #31
Part three of the "Red Daughter of Krypton" arc finds Kara Zor-El blazing with red-ring energy, her new Red Lantern uniform trailing crimson fire as she hovers between two enormous, clawed alien hands that seem ready to close around her. Emanuela Lupacchino's cover composition makes the threat feel genuinely vast — those yellow-green talons dwarf Supergirl completely, giving the scene a real sense of danger and scale. Writer Tony Bedard and the creative team were clearly swinging for something big with this 2014 chapter, and the cover delivers on that promise.
