Superboy #84

Superboy #84 (March 2001) promises a wild, kinetic ride — and the cover delivers exactly that, showing the teenage Man of Steel in his red-and-blue costume and signature shades clinging to the back of a massive, menacing mechanical creature bristling with guns and ammunition belts, as the tagline "Hitchin' a Ride!" cheekily sums up the situation. The creature's skull-like head and armored bulk dominate the foreground, while Superboy braces against the chaos with a grin-worthy confidence that suggests he's very much in his element. Penciller Pascual Ferry and inker Keith Champagne bring a tremendous sense of propulsive energy to the composition, making this one hard to put back on the shelf.
