“Hyper-Tension! Part One: Big Bang Theory!”

In "Hyper-Tension! Part One: Big Bang Theory!", Superboy's mysterious jacket—woven with New Gods technology—triggers visions in Wonder Woman and sets off a chain of events that splits reality itself. Strapped to a missile and launched into space, Superboy awakens in a Batcave where an alternate Batman and a Superboy-Robin await. Written by Karl Kesel and illustrated by Tom Grummett, with inks by Kesel and colors by Buzz Setzer, this pivotal issue sees the young hero confront a fractured timeline, all under a cover by Tom Grummett and Karl Kesel.

At the JLA Watchtower, energy from a wounded Superboy's jacket gives Wonder Woman visions of alternate realities. Superboy gasps, "Blackness coming...This Earth next...", and dies as Superboy enters! Project Cadmus investigates and finds the 2 Superboys are IDENTICAL and the jacket uses New Gods technology. The New Gods' Gadget Guru determines the jacket is DNA-specific to Superboy and may transcend Hypertime. To enter Hypertime, Superboy is strapped to an atomic missile, is shot into space, and activates the bomb. Awakening in the Batcave, he meets an alternate Batman and Superboy-Robin!
