Superboy #2/1980
In "Nach der Zerstörung," Superboy's mind fractures after consuming the Wundermaschine to stop Brainiac 5's Omega monster, leaving Traumgirl and Prinzess Projektra struggling to reach him through his unraveling thoughts. Meanwhile, Star Raiders launch an attack on Earth to steal neutronium, escalating their threat by attempting to trigger a solar explosion—only for the Legion to stand in their way. Written by Gerry Conway and illustrated by Joe Staton, with inks by Dave Hunt and colors by Gene D'Angelo, this 1980 issue features a cover by Dick Giordano.
After Allesesserboy consumes the Wundermaschine to stop Brainiac 5’s Monster Omega, he slips into madness, leaving Traumgirl and Prinzess Projektra unable to reach him in his fractured mind. While the Legion scrambles to defend Earth from the Sternenräuber’s assault—intent on detonating a star for Neutronium—Superboy, Mon-El, and the rest of the team must confront both the unraveling of a teammate and an imminent cosmic threat.
In "Die Nacht der Superkiller," a wave of vengeance sweeps through the cosmos as former allies of the Legion of Super-Heroes—now transformed into vengeful superbeings—target the very heroes they once called comrades. With the President of Earth refusing their plea for funds to rebuild their fallen home, the line between justice and retribution blurs as Superboy, Ultraboy, Saturngirl, and the rest of the Legion find themselves hunted by forces from their past.
