Neal Adams delivers a genuinely striking cover for this December 1969 DC issue: Clark Kent, dressed in street clothes, strides purposefully past a "You Are Now Leaving Smallville" sign while clutching his Superboy costume as though walking away from it for good. Behind him, two distraught figures — a man and a woman — plead with him not to leave, their speech bubbles capturing all the emotional weight of the moment. With interior art by Bob Brown inked by Wally Wood and a story titled "The Strange Death of Superboy!," this issue promises plenty of drama surrounding Smallville's favorite son.
