Superboy #111

This March 1964 DC offering pits the Boy of Steel against a sinister figure called the Mental Emperor, whose mind-over-matter abilities are on full display right on the cover — fossil bones are assembling themselves into the reconstructed skeletons of prehistoric dinosaurs as Superboy looks on in alarm. Curt Swan's pencils and George Klein's inks give the scene a wonderfully eerie tension, with the villain boldly declaring he can conquer the world while giant skeletal creatures loom across a barren landscape. Inside, Jerry Siegel's writing and George Papp's art promise more strange adventure, including a story spotlighting Lana Lang's own mysterious powers.
