Super Sons #9

The "Planet of the Capes" arc reaches its fourth chapter with this December 2017 issue, and the cover by Jorge Jiménez delivers a vivid sense of an all-out alien conflict — Superboy and Robin stand defiantly atop a rocky outcropping, capes and cloaks whipping in the chaos, while a horde of bizarre extraterrestrial creatures surges around them from every direction. The tagline "A World at War!" says it plainly: these two young heroes are very much outnumbered and right in the thick of it. With Peter J. Tomasi writing and both Jiménez and Carmine Di Giandomenico on art duties, this issue makes a strong case that the Super Sons are more than capable of holding their own against overwhelming odds.
