“The Wondertwins' Battle of Wits!”

Something's very wrong on this November 1979 cover from DC's Super Friends — the Wonder Twins are pointing an accusatory finger at a Batman who, according to the bold speech bubble, is most definitely NOT the Batman. Fradon and Smith's cover art captures a chaotic masquerade brawl, with the impostor Batman mid-kick against a purple-clad villain while a crowd of disguised figures — including what appears to be Wonder Woman and Robin among the costumed chaos — scrambles in the background. The cover's cheeky challenge to readers ("Can YOU spot the telltale clue?") makes this a genuinely fun, puzzle-box issue that showcases the lighthearted adventure spirit the Super Friends TV tie-in comic delivered so reliably in its late Bronze Age run.
