In "La loi du désert," Conan journeys across the scorching desert toward Zamboula, driven by the trail of Isparana and the stolen Eye of Erlik. After surviving an ambush at an oasis and encountering the Turanian soldier Arsil, he learns of a perilous mountain pass guarded by a sand demon—Hisarr Zul’s brother Tosya—who offers him a deadly bargain: kill Hisarr Zul or face the demon’s wrath.
In "null," Conan journeys to an isolated oasis where he trades the mysterious Eye of Erlik with the enigmatic Isparana—only to be captured by slavers and rescued by the Turanian soldier Arsil. After returning to Arenjun, Conan delivers the talisman to Hisarr Zul, who attempts to kill him, leaving the fate of both men uncertain.
