Super Comics #84

Super Comics #84 brings together a terrific lineup of newspaper strip favorites — Dick Tracy, Smitty, Tiny Tim, Harold Teen, and Winnie Winkle — all showcased in the header portraits across the top of this May 1945 Dell anthology. The main cover scene crackles with tension as a sharp-dressed figure in a black suit and green fedora levels a pistol at two men in hats and overcoats, one of whom appears to have his hands bound with rope. It's a snapshot of the hard-boiled drama that made these strip-to-comics collections such a compelling read for a dime.
