In the frigid aftermath of a blizzard, Tracy and Patton race to save a stranded snowplow driver, only to find Krome dead from exposure in a snow drift. As the doctor who once amputated Krome’s arm tries to flee with the help of a bribed constable, Tracy and Patton intercept them just in time. Meanwhile, in the city, a violent escapee from an insane asylum—Selbert—kills the wealthy Angus DePool, setting off a chain of events that ties the two cases together in unexpected ways.
