Super Comics #82 from Dell's March 1945 lineup puts Dick Tracy front and center in a tense standoff — the square-jawed detective levels a tommy gun at a group of armed criminals in orange hats, weapons drawn on both sides of the table. The cover banner also teases a terrific lineup of newspaper-strip favorites: Smitty, Tiny Tim, Harold Teen, and Winnie Winkle all get their own portrait panels along the top. For a dime, this 1945 anthology delivered a whole lot of comics storytelling under one cover.
