Sun #174 is an anthology comic featuring multiple stories. "Moko and Boko" depicts two monkey characters engaged in slapstick misadventures involving water and physical comedy. "My Pal Wagger" follows Ned, a gypsy boy, who encounters a hungry Wagger (a dog) at an old lady's cottage; when a vicious bulldog named Buller attacks, Wagger comes to Ned's aid, leading the old lady to invite Ned inside for food and shelter. "The School Against Him" tells of Jack Lawless, a troubled boy living under his lawyer guardian Mr. Fanshawe, who attempts to escape Hawkhurst School but is caught and brought back, only to face the entire school united against him as punishment for his troubles. The issue also includes "The Joker's Fun Page," a humor section inviting readers to submit jokes for prizes.
