Suicide Squad #5
In "Going Sane Part One: Shock Treatment," writer Rob Williams and artist Stephen Byrne delve into the origins of Zalika, a new Suicide Squad member whose tragic past is revealed through a tense debriefing with Amanda Waller. As the story unfolds, we learn how growing up in a struggling African neighborhood shaped her life—and how a powerful ability to turn people into data became her path to vengeance. The issue’s striking visuals, rendered in Byrne’s distinctive style, are matched by Jim Lee’s dynamic cover art, making this a standout entry in the 2016 series.

Waller debriefs Hack, and learns the story of how she and her brother grew up in a poor African neighborhood. Her brother joined a local gang and died as a result. When Zalika gained her ability to transform herself or others into pure data, she was inspired by the example of Harley Quinn to become a super-villain and to seek revenge on those responsible for her brother's death.
