Suicide Squad #11

The tagline "Suicide is Painful!" sets the tone perfectly for this September 2002 entry in DC's gritty black-ops series, with Mark Texeira's cover delivering a chaotic melee of Squad members — a blue-skinned woman, a spear-wielding fighter in red, a feral dark-clad figure, and several others — locked in desperate close-quarters combat against a tide of sickly green creatures. One teammate lies unconscious on the ground as the brawl churns around them, making it clear that this team's survival is anything but guaranteed. With Keith Giffen scripting and Paco Medina on interior art, "Role Reversal" promises exactly the kind of brutal, no-safety-net action the Squad does best.
