Having crash-landed in the sea, the Squad must gain access to the Russian base to recover the mysterious "cosmic object". They are aided by the meta-human Hack who gets them to the object, which seems to be connected to the Phantom Zone. Getting too close to the object, Captain Boomerang is incinerated by the heat vision of General Zod who emerges from the object.
