Suicide Squad #1
Task Force X charges headlong into chaos on this 2020 series opener, with Ivan Reis and Joe Prado's cover placing a grinning, gun-blazing Harley Quinn front and center, flanked by the massive King Shark, a red-masked figure brandishing a sword, a figure in ornate white-and-gold armor, a roaring Peacemaker, and a dark armored operative bringing up the rear — all surging forward through smoke and debris. The cover's speech bubble teases that half the team won't survive the issue, which sets a deliciously grim tone from page one. Writer Tom Taylor and artist Bruno Redondo kick off their run with a lineup that looks thrillingly expendable, and that's exactly the point.
