This 1946 summer issue puts Namor the Sub-Mariner front and center in a dockside brawl, his muscular form surging out of the water as gun-toting smugglers scramble across a patrol boat and a small motorboat labeled "Diana" — crates of rum stacked on the pier make clear what contraband operation he's crashing. Alex Schomburg's cover crackles with kinetic energy, packing sailors, shooters, and a city skyline into a tight, action-charged composition. The corner box also teases The Angel, rounding out what looks to be a packed ten-cent package of Golden Age adventure.
