“If I Wake Up”

In "If I Wake Up," Katchoo prepares for her first art show, her excitement shared by David and Francine, who agree to support her in every way—especially when Katchoo asks Francine to model for her. The story gently unfolds into a quiet, poignant moment as an older Francine wakes to find her younger self and Marie baking with Aunt Katchoo, a reunion that feels both familiar and strangely out of time. Written and drawn entirely by Terry Moore, this issue captures intimate moments with a subtle, dreamlike rhythm, its cover by Moore perfectly framing the story’s quiet emotional weight.

In her art class, Katchoo is asked to display some of her paintings at a local show. David and Francine are ecstatic about it. Katchoo asks Francine to be her model, and Francine accepts. Later, an older version of Francine wakes up to find her young daughter and Marie baking biscuits with ‘Aunt Katchoo’ -- who Francine hasn’t seen in awhile.
