Strangers in Paradise #18
In "If I Wake Up," Katchoo prepares for her first art show, her excitement shared by David and Francine, who agree to support her in every way—especially when Katchoo asks Francine to model for her. The story gently unfolds into a quiet, poignant moment as an older Francine wakes to find her younger self and Marie baking with Aunt Katchoo, a reunion that feels both familiar and strangely out of time. Written and drawn entirely by Terry Moore, this issue captures intimate moments with a subtle, dreamlike rhythm, its cover by Moore perfectly framing the story’s quiet emotional weight.
