Strange Girl #3

The cover of Strange Girl #3 sets an unsettling, atmospheric tone — a dark-haired young woman presses against a wall in wide-eyed terror while an enormous, snarling demon creature lunges toward her from the foreground, its gaping maw and pale, hollow eyes dominating the composition. Eric Nguyen's linework gives the whole image a fluid, almost painterly menace, with Joëlle Comtois's muted, shadowy palette deepening the dread. This 2005 Image series from writer Rick Remender already has a strong visual identity by issue three, and this cover makes a compelling case for why.
