Magazine Enterprises packed plenty of tension into this 1952 installment of their Western hero's series, and Fred Meagher's cover art makes the stakes immediately clear. Straight Arrow, bow drawn and ready, is surrounded on horseback by four warriors — each wielding a different weapon — as dust kicks up beneath the horses' hooves in a vivid, kinetic scene. The cover's own tagline says it all: "Trapped by the four deadliest weapons experts of the plains, how can Straight Arrow survive...?" — a genuinely compelling question that makes it hard not to flip the page.
