“Red Sky in the Morning - Strange Weather 2 of 3”

Warren Ellis's "Strange Weather" arc continues in this November 1997 Image series, with cover art by Gary Frank and Randy Elliott presenting a tense scene built around a missile or canister bearing a skull-and-crossbones hazard marking and an American flag insignia — whatever it contains, it doesn't look good. In the foreground, a green-skinned woman lunges urgently toward the viewer while a suited man with glowing, toxic-looking energy at his fingertips looms behind her, and a winged woman in a blue bodysuit hovers above with a firearm at the ready. It's a visually charged setup for part two of three in this three-part story, with Oscar Jimenez on interiors and McKenna among the inkers keeping StormWatch's mid-'90s energy running at full tilt.
