Storm #4
The cover of this May 1996 finale to Storm's four-issue Marvel limited series says it all — a battle at close quarters, with Storm's white hair wild and her eyes blazing as a powerfully built, armored opponent bearing a gold hoop earring looms over her, one massive fist raised and crackling with energy. Terry Dodson and Karl Story deliver a cover composition that feels genuinely tense, the tagline "Before I Die…" adding real weight to the confrontation. Warren Ellis writing Ororo Munroe at her most desperate makes this a satisfying capstone to a grounded, character-driven 1996 run.
