This Polish-language edition of Storm — "Planeta robotów" (Planet of the Robots) — presents one of the most arresting covers Don Lawrence painted for the series: a lone red-clad figure stands defiantly on a crimson walkway, dwarfed by a colossal, tentacle-armed robot whose clawed appendages and coiling hoses fill the mechanical landscape around it. Lawrence's brushwork is in full force here, with the vast gridded interior and carefully directed arrows lending the scene an unsettling, labyrinthine atmosphere that makes the hero's solitary stand all the more striking. Written by Martin Lodewijk and brought to vivid life by Lawrence's art and colors, this 2002 Egmont Polska volume is a fine showcase for one of European comics' most visually ambitious sci-fi adventures.
