Static Shock #3

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Static Shock #3 (January 2012) promises a "Scuffle in the Skyline!" — and the cover by Khary Randolph delivers exactly that, with a massive armored villain wielding glowing blades bearing down on a much smaller Static high above a gleaming cityscape. The size contrast and rooftop-level setting give the confrontation a real sense of urgency and scale. Writers Scott McDaniel and John Rozum, with art by McDaniel and inks by Andy Owens, bring the young hero's New York adventures to life in what looks like a thrilling mid-air showdown.
