The cover of this 2009 Dark Horse entry in the Clone Wars series says it all with its tagline: "Breaking Bread with the Enemy!" — and sure enough, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi find themselves seated at a lavish dining table opposite a tall, imperious Separatist figure who presides over the meal with cool authority, while a fourth figure sits with their back to us in the foreground. Ramón Pérez's artwork captures the uneasy tension of this unlikely gathering beautifully, with a fiery orange sky glowing through the window behind the host. Kicking off "Hero of the Confederacy," this first chapter of a three-part story from writers Henry Gilroy and Steven Melching promises a mission where diplomacy and danger share the same table.
