“[The Battle of Jabiim, Part 2 of 4]: Stormchasers”

Part two of the "Battle of Jabiim" arc plunges readers into the chaos of Clone Wars-era combat, and this Tomás Giorello cover captures the intensity perfectly. A Jedi — blue lightsaber blazing — stands his ground against a wave of battle droids whose red laser blasts cut through a stormy, lightning-streaked sky, while the debris of destroyed droids rains down around him. Writer Haden Blackman and artist Brian Ching bring the Republic's struggle to life in what is shaping up to be one of Dark Horse's most gripping Star Wars stories of 2003.

When his master is killed in a battle with Jabiimi rebels, Anakin Skywalker finds himself assigned to a squad of similarly "orphaned" Padawans. They all have chips on their shoulders and are looking for either revenge...or a way to follow their dead masters in death. When a routine re-supply mission turns into a life or death fight, Anakin is faced with a choice: either set his feelings aside and follow his training or give into his anger and use the power of the dark side.
